Largest underwater portrait of Captain Batra achieved URF World Records.

As part of the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations, the Pangode Military Station in Trivandrum on Tuesday organized a demonstration by artist ‘Da Vinci’ Suresh by setting up an underwater portrait of the late Captain Vikram Batra, Param Vir Chakra.

The event was organized by the Indian Army in association with the scuba team of Bond Water Sports Pvt Ltd to mark the Kargil Vijay Diwas, a defense statement said.

Largest underwater portrait of Captain Batra created at Pangode Military Station achieved URF World Records (Universal Records Forum). The World Record Certificate was presented by the URF officials during the event.

It took the artist eight hours to complete the unique 1,500-square-foot underwater installation created using tiles.” handed over a memento to the team. Sports Pvt Ltd said a military band performance was also organized as part of the event, the release said.

In another event, the Station Commander paid floral tributes and paid tribute to the heroes of Kargil War at the Pangode War Memorial on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26 July to commemorate the country’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War in 1999.
