West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday… reiterated his call to defeat BJP in 2024and said that the country should strive to bring about a “people’s government to end anarchy”.

Speaking in the assembly, Banerjee said in an apparent reference to BJP president JP Nadda’s recent remarks on violence and corruption in Bengal that her state has a better law and order situation than other parts of the country.

He also claimed that the Border Security Force (BSF) has “spread terror” in the border areas of the state.

The Chief Minister said, “Innocent people are being killed in the border areas. The Center does not bother to send fact-finding teams to investigate these killings.”

Ridiculing the Centre’s notification on hugging a cow on Valentine’s Day, which was later withdrawn, Ms Banerjee wondered what if a cow kills a person.

“What if the cow kills us? [BJP] Compensate us,” she said.
