Actress Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, reveals she learned life skills on set while filming and preparing for the film.

This simple life skill was free diving, which involves going deep under water without any breathing apparatus.

Discussing their underwater training, Letitia said: “For me, I wasn’t going to be Tenoch (Huerta, the anti-hero in the film) as much, but I got to learn how to break free from the fantastic team. Jae yeah that’s a great life skill now. It was a really deep tank, we had to go down, hold our breath, look around, I had to do Wakanda forever (hand gesture) and come back up .

In this latest venture, the Wakandans face the fight of their lives against an enemy that has been hiding from them, Namor and the nation of Talokan.

Huerta talks about Namor’s kingdom and its importance. “Taloquen is a beautiful place. ‘Tloquen’ is an Aztec concept of their paradise, it’s a paradise of water, it’s a paradise of water. Taloquen is the Maya translation. Namor has to protect this kingdom, he has to shelter this protect.”

About his own experience Huerta said: “I didn’t know how to swim before this movie and now I learned and now I can hold my breath for 5 minutes but Mabel (Cadena) in her first dive, it was 8 minutes was. It was a beautiful process and getting inside that tank is a peaceful feeling. It’s like active meditation. You are definitely working, you are acting but at the same time it feels great, a journey Like, like a warm blanket you know that was my feeling under the water.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film also stars Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Dominic Thorne and Danai Gurira.

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ will release on Disney+A Hotstar on February 1.
