Congress take

Congress Parliamentary Speaker explains the state of national governance and the state of BJP’s politics (Editorial page, April 11). But how well the Congress party, which claims itself to be the “principal opposition party”, is doing justice to its role will be the difference between today and tomorrow. Editorial articles are largely read by the educated elite, whose numbers hardly count when it comes to votes. Today’s crowd of voters can be won over only by the gift of jumlebaazi and promises of development. Now the time has come for the Congress to reach out to the masses systematically, seriously and rhetorically.

Enjoyed reading the article. Has the leader spent time analyzing the party’s past record in governance and the years of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government when she was the chairperson of the UPA?

There was a sense of despair in the article. Instead of targeting one person, the opposition should fight 2024 by targeting the failures of the government. Congress will have to work shoulder to shoulder with regional parties instead of playing the role of boss.

politics on milk

Trust politicians for electoral gains, milk included! The entry of Amul in Karnataka is being opposed mainly because it is based in Gujarat. Nothing could be more silly or whimsical than this. What if Gujarat bans the sale of electronics made in Bengaluru? Amul is definitely not a Gujarati brand anymore and is very much pan-Indian.
