The doctor’s instincts came to the fore in Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Sundararajan on Friday when she got down from her car to give first aid to a youth who was injured in a two-wheeler accident near Kattankulathur.

The youth had met with an accident when he was on his way from Puducherry to Chennai and was lying on the ground with blood-soaked wounds when the Lieutenant Governor passed by.

She immediately got out of the car and went to the patient. After his wound was healed, he arranged for an ambulance to take the patient to SRM Hospital at Kattankulathur in Chengalpattu.

According to Raj Niwas, the Lieutenant Governor also contacted the doctor and arranged for immediate treatment. The young man is said to be fine.

In a video of the incident, as the ambulance left with the patient, a local resident can be seen with folded hands to the Lt Governor, saying that he never expected that he would walk out of his convoy like this to help the injured person. Will come down ,

“This is the first time I’m seeing you in person”, the man says, expressing his gratitude for her gesture.

“Passengers should wear helmets. Stop speeding or using the phone to avoid road accidents”, Ms Sundararajan later said.
