Library decorated for the visit of the Vice President

Ram Mohan Dharma Pustak Bhandaram, popularly known as Ram Mohan Library, was decorated to welcome Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu here on Sunday.

Built in 1911, the library is a piece of history, lined with works by writers from the 18th and 19th centuries. It has a large collection of books related to freedom, history, science, politics and other genres in Telugu, English and Sanskrit, apart from some Hindi classics.

The place has historical significance as it was visited by the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, former President VV Giri and many prominent freedom fighters and survived a long period of neglect.
