LIC 10th most valuable insurance brand globally with $8.65 billion: Report

LIC’s brand value also climbed 32 places in the overall global brand rankings to become the world’s 206th most valuable brand in 2021 from 238th in 2020.

As per this valuation, LIC is the largest and strongest brand in the country with a valuation of USD 8.655 billion in 2021, a growth of 6.8 per cent from USD 8.11 billion in 2020, when the top 100 insurers were valued globally. declined by 6 percent. ,

The corporation ranks first in brand strength among the competitive set with a score of 84.1 and is ranked third in brand strength globally behind Italy’s Poste Italiano and Spain’s Mapfrey, and the 10th most valuable insurance globally. Interestingly, while the state-owned insurer increased its brand value by 6.8 per cent last year, all other top 100 insurers saw a 6 per cent decline in their brand value from USD 462.4 billion in 2020 to 433.0 per cent in 2021. Billion USD.

Five of the top 10 are Chinese insurers, with Ping An Insurance becoming the world’s most valuable insurance brand despite a 26 percent drop in brand value. The US has two companies in the top 10, while France, Germany and India have one each in the list.

This makes LIC the only domestic insurer that ranks in the Top 10 Strongest Brands list and in the Top 10 Most Valuable Insurance Brands.
