What is Jeevan Praman?
Jeevan Pramaan is a digital life certificate for pensioners which is biometrically enabled and based on Aadhaar. Digital Life Certificate is a valid certificate.
Generation of Digital Life Certificate or Jeevan Pramaan
Pensioners can either generate digital life certificate (DLC) themselves or let others do it for them. Pensioners can register and get JP/DLC done at the following places:
i) Pensioners can download JP application (Generate DLC itself) from JP portal https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/app/download and client application on Android based smart phone/tablet or Windows PC/Laptop for DLC generation can install. ,
ii) Pensioners can visit any of the nearest centers (facilitated with digital services) such as Citizen Service Centers (CSCs), Government offices/designated banks for making DLCs and get themselves registered online using their services.
Digital Life Certificate Generation
1) The pensioner’s data, Aadhaar number and mobile number have to be entered in the online application form after which the pensioner receives an OTP.
2) Pensioner has to enter the OTP and click on OK.
3) If the correct OTP is entered, the following screen is presented. On the next screen, enter the mandatory information like Pensioner’s Name, PPO Number, Pension Type, Sanctioning Authority Name, Disbursing Agency, Email, Bank Account Number, etc. Select Remarriage option, Redeployment option.
4) Check the small gray box. Then click on the ‘Scan Finger’ button and this will initiate the finger/iris scanning process.
5) Once the fingerprint/iris authentication is successful, the pensioner’s life certificate is displayed and an SMS acknowledgment is sent to the pensioner’s mobile number.
6) The SMS will contain the Jeevan Pramaan Certificate ID. The generated certificate or DLC is stored in the Life Certificate Repository and is available anytime and anywhere for use by pensioners and pension disbursing agency.
Electronic Delivery of DLC
Once the certificate is generated, the certificate ID is sent in SMS to the pensioner for further use (print). Digital Life Certificate or Jeevan Pramaan can also be given electronically to pension disbursing agencies. PDA can access and view life certificate on Jeevan Pramaan website and also download the same
The pensioner can not only have the DLC available at the time of DLC generation but can also download a PDF copy of the generated digital certificate from the Jeevan Pramaan website using the generated Jeevan Pramaan ID or Aadhaar number.
