Aiming to post a strong target, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are down by five wickets against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 45 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai on Friday. PBKS captain KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bowl. KKR have been in excellent form in the UAE, winning three of their last four matches. The Eoin Morgan-led side are currently at the fourth spot in the IPL 2021 points table with five wins and six losses (10 points). Chris Gayle pulls out of IPL 2021
Chris GayleRepresenting PBKS, has pulled out of IPL 2021 citing “bubble fatigue”.“Over the past few months, I have been a part of the CWI bubble, the CPL bubble and then the IPL bubble and I want to recharge and refresh myself mentally,” Gayle said in a statement issued by Punjab Kings.
“I want to refocus on helping West Indies in the T20 World Cup and take a break in Dubai. Thank you Punjab Kings for giving me the time. My wishes and hopes are always with the team. All the comings It’s great for sports.”
Head coach Anil Kumble said the team respects his decision.
“I have played against Chris and coached him at Punjab Kings and all the years I have known him he has always been an absolute professional and we as a team respect his decision and consider ourselves as a T20 World champion. Willing to prepare for the cup.” Kumble said.
