Bengaluru:

Reacting to the raids conducted by the Lokayukta’s anti-corruption wing at the house of Prashant Madal, son of BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said the Lokayukta is independent and let there be a free and fair probe.

“The reason for reintroducing the Lokayukta is to curb corruption in the state. Under the Congress rule, many such cases were found but later it was closed. The anti-corruption wing of the Lokayukta is independent and independent and impartial investigations take place. An action against the guilty,” Chief Minister Bommai said.

He said, “Our aim is to punish the culprits, all the details are with the Lokayukta, whose money it was, where it came from, everything should come out.”

“Earlier (during the Congress rule), the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) closed many corruption cases and closed the investigation. Let everything be probed and the truth come out, we will investigate all those cases,” he said. Will investigate.”

Earlier on Friday morning, the anti-corruption branch of Lokayukta raided the residence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Madal Virupakshappa’s son Prashant Madal and recovered Rs 6 crore in cash.
