In view of incidents of negligence and other lapses in the administration of Mangaluru Urban Development Authority, Mangaluru Lokayukta Police on Saturday said that necessary action would be taken under the Lokayukta Act for dereliction of duty.
Following complaints of delayed disposal of applications in MUDA, the Lokayukta police searched the MUDA premises from October 11 to 14.
Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Lakshmi Ganesh said in a release that during the searches, Lokayukta police found several instances of delayed disposal of applications. Applicants were not being informed about the status of their applications.
Shri Ganesh told Hindu That a report on the searches would be sent shortly to the Additional Director General of Police (Lokayukta) mentioning the details of MUDA personnel found negligent in performing their duty.
“We will demand necessary disciplinary action against the personnel under the Lokayukta Act,” said Mr. Ganesh.
