Lokesh alleges YSRCP government has betrayed Dalits

TDP national general secretary N. Lokesh on Monday alleged that the YSRCP government has taken away 12,000 acres of land belonging to SC/ST communities in the name of Jagannath Colonies.

Interacting with SC farmers in Sanambatla village of Chandragiri assembly constituency in Tirupati district as part of his Yuva Galam Walkathon, Mr. Lokesh alleged that by diverting funds of ₹12,000 crore to SC/ST sub-schemes, The Jagan Mohan Reddy government has betrayed. Dalit community after winning the 2019 election with Dalit votes.

Mr. Lokesh also said that the YSRCP government did not spare even the ‘cremation grounds meant for scheduled caste communities’.

He alleged that when Dalits questioned the irregularities, they were tortured and false cases were slapped on them.

Responding to the grievances of Dalits, Mr. Lokesh said that the TDP, if voted to power in the 2024 elections, would restart all 27 welfare schemes that were ‘suspended during the YSRCP regime’.

“All false cases imposed on Dalits will be dropped once the TDP is voted to power in the 2024 assembly elections,” promised Mr. Lokesh.
