Looking for a house on rent in Bangalore? You must have 90% marks in 12th

Who said that education percentage is of no importance? While it may not count during job interviews, it is definitely needed when looking for an apartment on rent in Bangalore. Now, a Twitter post by a Bengaluru man has gone viral in which his cousin has been denied a house on rent because he did not score 90 per cent in class 12th.

In his post on Twitter, the user has shared the WhatsApp chat between the tenant and the broker. The tweet posted by Shubh said, “Marks don’t decide your future, but definitely decide whether you will get a flat in Bangalore or not.”

“I can’t believe that my cousin was refused by the owner for a rented flat as he got 76% marks in class 12th and the owner was expecting at least 90%,” he wrote.

In the screenshot, the broker tells the first tenant, Yogesh, that his profile has been approved by the owner. He then asked her to share her LinkedIn and Twitter profiles, PAN and Aadhaar cards along with class 10, 12 marksheets. Not only this, Yogesh was also asked to share an essay on himself in 150-200 words.

However, when the owner saw her marks, he refused to give her a house on rent because of her poor marks in class 12th.

The tweet has garnered over 1.4 million views and over 15,000 likes. Users have also commented agreeing with this new bizarre trend of Bengaluru.
