LSG vs PBKS: Punjab Kings beat Lucknow Super Giants in a thrilling match

Punjab Kings registered a spectacular win in the 21st match of the season IPL 2023 against Lucknow Supergiants on Saturday. In the match played at LSG’s home ground Ekana Stadium, Lucknow, PBKS defeated LSG by 2 wickets. It is worth noting Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the game due to an injury and Sam Curran was named stand-in captain. PBKS won the toss and elected to field. Electing to bat first, LSG scored 159/8 in 20 overs. Punjab, on the other hand, successfully chased down the target in 19.3 overs with 2 wickets in hand.

Punjab Kings didn’t get off to a good start as their opener Arthav Tayde got out in the very first over without scoring a run. Apart from this, Prabhsimran Singh was also able to score only four runs before getting out. Interestingly, the first two wickets were taken by Yudhvir Singh Charak who made his IPL debut. However, Matthew Short stabilized the PBKS innings but was then dismissed for 34. Harpreet Singh Bhatia and Sikandar Raza stitched a brilliant partnership to take Punjab closer to victory. While Harpreet contributed 22 runs, Sikandar played an inning of 57 runs in 41 balls. On the other hand, Sam Curran scored 6 runs and Jitesh Sharma scored 2 runs. In the end, Shahrukh Khan hit some big fours and played an innings of 22 runs to take his team to victory.

captain KL Rahul Played the highest innings of 78 runs in 56 balls for Lucknow Super Giants. Kyle Mayers scored 29 runs, Deepak Hooda scored 2 runs and Krunal Pandya Contributed 18 runs. At the same time, Nicholas Pooran could not even open his account. towards the end, Marcus Stoinis 15 runs scored, Ayush Badoni scored 5 runs, and Krishnappa Gautam scored 1 run to take the LSG total to 159 runs.
