dfsc Surinder Kumar Beri has retired and Jagandeep Dhillon has been suspended. Both the officer and the commission agent have been named on the statement of Shelar Rohit Agarwal.
Vigilance officials confirmed that Anil Jain, Mahavir Bansal, former DFSC Surinder Kumar Beri and former PUNSOP manager Jagandeep Dhillon have been named in the FIR. Further investigation is on. It is alleged that Anil Jain and Mahavir Bansal are commission agents though they were allotted their own shellers for shelling and storage of grains. The complainant in his statements also alleged that both were involved in fraudulent billing of food grains smuggled from other states. The allegations are being confirmed.
On 30 September, the District Manager, FCI issued instructions to the DFSC (East/West) to store the food grains stock at the nearest Kila Raipur center as the transportation cost for the same was Rs 254.22 per metric tonne. However, DFSC Beri ignored the instructions and linked the mandis of Dhandra and Lalton with Ludhiana and Jagraon, costing Rs 360.91 per metric tonne. The complainant also alleged that Beri and Dhillon received bribes for this from Jagars and Shelars of Ludhiana.
Mullanpur Dakha Municipal Council President Telu Ram Bansal said that his brother Mahavir and Congress councilor Rupali Jain’s husband Anil Jain have been named on the statement of another Shelar.
He said the Vigilance Bureau should have probed the allegations before naming them in the FIR.
