Ludhiana: In a traumatic incident, three persons were killed after being hit by a passenger train while trying to cross the railway track near Dhandari Kalan in Ludhiana.
So far only one deceased has been identified, while the identity of two others is yet to be ascertained. However, it is feared that all three are factory workers and probably work in the surrounding area.
Speaking to TOI, Inspector Jaskaran Singh, in-charge of Government Railway Police said, “Three people died when they tried to cross the tracks of a passenger train going from Ludhiana to Ambala. The incident happened at 4 pm today. 4.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Railway crossing at Dhandari which has been closed permanently. As of now the exact chain of events is not clear but our investigation in this regard is going on. As far as the identity of the dead As of now, we have identified one of them and prima facie it appears that three of them were laborers who work in the same factory in the nearby area.”
