M Night Shyamalan’s daughter Ishana to make directorial debut with ‘The Watchers’

Writer Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of filmmaker M Night Shyamalan, is all set to direct her feature film guard Production under the banner New Line Cinema.

Ishana, who most recently worked as writer and director on the critically acclaimed Apple TV+ Series ServantWhich was screened by his father, has adapted his film from AM Shine’s novel of the same name.

The thriller will begin production later this year, with the studio slated for a worldwide release on June 7, 2024. deadline,

guard revolves around Mina, a 28-year-old artist who becomes trapped in a vast, untouched forest in western Ireland. The official logline reads, “When Mina gets ashore, she is unwittingly trapped with three strangers who are watched and stalked every night by mysterious creatures.”

M Night Shyamalan and Ashwin Rajan are set to produce the film through Blinding Edge Pictures. Nimit Mankad will also serve as a producer, with Inimitable Pictures and Joe Homewood attached as executive producers.

“We are very excited to make Ishana’s debut film guard, Equal parts visual, immersive and terrifying, the script grabs you from page one and never lets go,” said Richard Brenner, President and Chief Creative Officer of New Line Cinema.

A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Ishana also directed the second unit on her father’s hits. Old (2021) and knock on the cabin (2023).
