Maharashtra: 55% increase in COVID cases in a single day, active cases rise to 24915

The state of Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 3,659 new Covid-19 cases in the last twenty four hours. A 55% increase was registered from a day earlier, taking the number of active cases to 24915. Mumbai itself included 1,781 in Tuesday’s total cases.

Maharashtra also registered a covid related Death in the last one day.

A health department official said that apart from Tuesday, the number of Kovid-19 cases rose to 79,41,762 and Kovid deaths at 1,47,889.

Besides the tally was 1,305 or 55% higher than the 2,354 cases reported on Monday.

Meanwhile, there was a slight decline in the number of Covid cases on Tuesday as India recorded 9,923 new infections in the last 24 hours, down by 2,858 from Monday.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the total active caseload has crossed 79,313. Till now the total Kovid-19 cases have reached 4,33,16,396.

17 new people have died in the country, taking the death toll to 5,24,890 so far.
