The Shiv Sena on Tuesday removed Eknath Shinde as the leader of the legislature party following reports that Shinde was accompanying 21 other MLAs to a hotel in Surat in Gujarat. News agency ANI reported that Sewri MLA Ajay Chaudhary will be the new leader of the Shiv Sena Legislature Party. Shinde had taken the MLAs to a dhaba for dinner after voting for the MLC elections was over. Shinde told the MLAs that they would have food at a dhaba in Palghar, which is about four hours away from Surat. The MLAs were taken directly from Palghar to Surat.
