Making fun of Thackeray, the Union minister said that the politics of the past was confined to Matoshree (Thackeray’s private residence in Bandra in Mumbai).

Union minister Narayan Rane on Saturday claimed that four MLAs of Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray faction were in touch with him to join the ruling group led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, but refused to divulge the names. He was in the city as part of the central government’s ‘Rozgar Mela’, under which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Appointment letters handed over to government job aspirants electronically in Delhi.

“Out of 56 MLAs (in the Uddhav Thackeray faction) there are hardly six to seven left. They are going out too. Four MLAs are in touch with me but I will not disclose their names.

Mocking Thackeray, the Union minister said that while the politics of the former was confined to Matoshree (Thackeray’s personal residence in Bandra in Mumbai and a power center of the party with Sena Bhavan), “there is no Shiv Sena faction left”.

Speaking about the ‘Rojgar Mela’, Rane in June lauded PM Modi for asking various government departments and ministries to recruit 10 lakh people on “mission mode” in the next one and a half years. Rane said that he will not talk about those doing politics in this mega-recruitment drive as it is the “festival season of Diwali”.
