Mumbai: Maharashtra The government has sanctioned Rs 365 crore as assistance to farmers who reported crop loss due to floods in the state in July.
Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation Vijay Wadettiwar He said that farmers have reported crop loss due to excessive rainfall in July and he has directed the administration to ensure that financial assistance reaches the affected at the earliest.
Out of total Rs 365.67 crore, Rs 150 crore has been sanctioned for Pune division, Rs 118 crore Amravati Division, Rs.77 crore for Aurangabad Division and Rs.8 crore for Konkan the division.
Officials said that Maharashtra has suffered massive damage in the monsoon season. More than 430 people have lost their lives and crop damage is reported on more than 40 lakh hectares of land.
The state government has also sought financial assistance from the Center and the proposal is yet to be heard.
An inter-ministerial team of experts was on a visit to the affected areas of the state earlier this week. the team visited Raigarh District, chiplun The city and parts of western Maharashtra which have been badly affected.
