“A 39-year-old man died after falling into a 500-feet-deep gorge while clicking selfies with monkeys on Varandha Ghat Road,” police were quoted as saying by PTI. The victim has been identified as Abdul Sheikh and his body. Recovered on Wednesday morning.
Abdul Sheikh was on his way to Konkan in his car and stopped near the Waghzai temple on the Varandha Ghat road, a police officer told PTI.
Inspector Vitthal Dabade of Bhor police station said, “There were some monkeys around and he was trying to take a selfie with them in the background when he fell.”

In another shocking incident, a 27-year-old medical sales professional committed suicide while recording live on Facebook, saying he was taking the extreme step as his girlfriend refused to marry him under pressure from her family. . The family of the man, who did not inform the police about the December 26 incident, has now accused the woman’s family of killing him.
In the Facebook Live, the man is heard saying that he could not bear the woman’s refusal as the two were in a relationship for a long time. According to a report published by NDTV, the police have launched an investigation into the incident. The man, identified as Jaideep Roy, committed suicide by hanging himself inside his rented room in Silchar. In a recorded Facebook Live, Roy said that he did not want his girlfriend to be in trouble as his family was putting her life in danger because of their relationship. He apologizes to his parents and other family members saying that he loves them but he loves his girlfriend more and cannot live without her.
“I sent a formal marriage proposal but she refused in front of everyone. Later her uncle came to me and said that they will kill her because of our relationship. Now I am leaving this world so that he doesn’t have trouble because of me. -law. I love you all, but I love my girlfriend more and I can’t live without her.”
