Thane: Police have detained a minor boy for allegedly stealing cash worth Rs 1 lakh mobile phone From a hotel where he worked in Thane city, police said on Tuesday.
The theft took place in a hotel in the city Naupada In the city area, on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, when the young man stole cash and mobile phone by opening the hotel with a duplicate key, the senior inspector Anil Deshmukh said.
On the basis of secret information, the police arrested the accused. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station in neighboring Mumbai, as he was about to board a train to West Bengal, he said.
The police have recovered Rs one lakh in cash and mobile phones worth Rs 10,000 from the accused, who have been booked under IPC section 381 (theft) and other relevant provisions, the official said.
