Maharashtra political crisis: Eknath Shinde calls up MNS chief Raj Thackeray

Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shide spoke to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray about the recent political situation in the state, news agency ANI reported.

The MNS leader further said that Shinde spoke to Raj Thackeray twice over the phone and also inquired about his health.

Interestingly, the Shinde faction named its group ‘Shiv Sena Balasaheb’.

Naming the group after Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray attracted sharp reactions from the Uddhav faction as the chief minister said those who have left the party should not seek votes in the name of the party’s founder.

Last week, Eknath Shinde – one of the top Shiv Sena leaders, did not get in touch with some other MLAs – and traveled to Surat, resulting in a massive political crisis in Maharashtra. Hours later, Shiv Sena removed the rebel MLA from the post of leader of the party in the House. Soon after, the rebel MLAs passed a resolution signed by 34 MLAs naming Shinde as the head of the party.

Meanwhile, Shinde has contacted Supreme court Against the disqualification notice issued by the Deputy Speaker against the rebel MLAs.
