Maharashtra schools to celebrate women’s week

Schools in Maharashtra will observe a week-long appreciation of women between March 8-12. Schools will be associated with NGOs, academia and corporates to mark International Women’s Day. State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has announced major programs to be held during this period.

“Women are nurturers and builders. What better way to celebrate this International Women’s Day than by collaborating with NGOs, academia and corporates to enrich the lives of girls and children in Maharashtra. Happy to announce these important collaborations to mark this day,” Gaikwad tweeted.

in between, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) The board will conduct the examination from March 4 to March 30 for HSC or class 12 students. SSC or class 10 board exam 2022 will be held from March 15 to April 4. This year the examinations will be conducted in offline mode as per the schedule amid protests by the students.

The students had earlier gathered against the offline examination. Students protested near Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad’s residence at Ashok Mill Naka in Dharavi, Mumbai, demanding cancellation of exams. He argued that since the classes have been conducted online, the examinations should also be conducted online. He further said that there was learning loss due to online classes and hence the offline examination should be cancelled.

Many students had also gathered in the areas of Thane, Nagpur and Nashik. Students agitating in Nagpur damaged two buses. The police had claimed that they had resorted to “mild lathi-charge” to stop the students from going towards Gaikwad’s residence.
