Significantly, Lodha also holds the Women and Child Development Ministry in Maharashtra. He also explained the common problem of newborn babies being scared by the sound of ambulance sirens. Therefore, the new ambulance will have a unique siren like Khilkhilat, which is the laughter of the children. In its initial phase, the program will be implemented at five locations in the suburbs of Mumbai. After seeing the public response, it will be implemented in the rest of the state as well.

“These Khilkhilat ambulances will be designed keeping the kids in mind and the main motive behind this is to bring happiness to the family and the kids as having a new baby as a new member in the family is a special moment for the family.” Mangal Prabhat Lodha, who is also the guardian minister of the Mumbai suburban district.

It is worth mentioning that Khilkhilat Seva was first started by the Gujarat government in 2012. The pilot project of the Government of Maharashtra takes inspiration from the scheme of the Government of Gujarat. Khilkhilat service aims to provide safe homecoming to mothers and babies free of cost.

Along with the sound of sirens, the ambulance will have other facilities like nutrition kit for newborn, vaccine chart for newborn and details of nearby government hospitals.
