The arrested accused have been identified as Arshad Sheikh (19), Prakash Pardhi alias Pakya (20), Arjun Pardeshi (20) and Kishore Sonawane alias Kalu (25). Shaikh is a resident of Malad area of ​​Mumbai while the rest of the accused are residents of Igatpuri area of ​​Nashik.
A case has been registered against the accused under section 376(d) (gang rape) and related sections Robbery.
The robbers entered the train at Igatpuri station and robbed the passengers mobile phones and cash by threatening them using knives and belts.
After the robbery, some accused raped the girl. In view of the incident, some passengers caught the two accused, while the rest managed to escape at Kasara railway station.
Later, when the train reached Kalyan railway station, the passengers handed over the accused to Kalyan GRP.
Later, the GRP formed a team and arrested two more accused.
The team is now searching for the rest of the accused.
The incident inside the train has raised a question mark on the safety of the passengers inside the train as many incidents of robbery have been reported on this route in the past as well.
