When asked about the possible change in the batting order going forward in the competition, Jayawardene said, “Good question. I need to review it and have a discussion with other coaches as well and do some planning.”
“Batting has been a matter of concern for us, especially on good wickets where we have batted level. If changes need to be made, we will do that.
The Sri Lankan legend said, “We had some changes (so far) but not a lot. We wanted to keep the batting consistent. Obviously there are concerns because we are not batting consistently or we are batting first or chasing the target.”
Jayawardene also plans to sit alongside Kishan, whose performance graph has fallen drastically after fifties in the first two games.
“He has struggled a bit, we have given him the freedom to play his natural game. I haven’t spoken to him yet but I will talk to him soon,” he said.
Mumbai had bought Kishan back in the IPL auction earlier this year for Rs 15.25 crore.
