Mahindra will announce the launch date of the XUV700 while bookings are expected to start soon
Mahindra & Mahindra recently announced that the company is facing supply shortfall of semiconductors, which continues to be a global issue. In light of the shortfall, the automaker will cut production at its plants, which will also impact production volumes, revenue and profitability. Despite the challenging environment, the automaker has confirmed that chip shortages don’t delay the all-new Mahindra XUV700 The launch which will happen as per schedule. Bookings will also start as per schedule, the company reiterated. However, Mahindra is yet to reveal when the bookings for the new XUV700 will start.

In a regulatory filing, the automaker said, “The above event will not have any material impact on the production ramp-up and launch plans of the XUV700. The date of commencement of bookings will be announced soon.”
In the same filing, Mahindra said semiconductor shortage has affected production for September and the automaker will observe ‘no production days’ for about seven days. This should reduce the volume of production by 20-25 per cent, which will also affect revenue and profitability which will be affected on the same lines. The company said it is “taking various cost optimization measures to limit the impact.”
Mahindra also said that its tractor operations, exports, truck and bus business and three-wheeler production remain unaffected by the above disruption.
