Mahindra Racing has announced that the team will unveil its Gen3 Formula E car at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​to be held in the UK from June 23-26, 2022. The M9Electro follows tradition as the Gen2 Formula E Mahindra car also debuted at Goodwood in 2017, breaking a record in the process. Speaking about the introduction of the Gen3 car, Mahindra Racing driver Oliver Rowland said, “It was such a great experience to be one of the first to drive the new Gen3 Formula E car. Mahindra says the new M9Electro is the fastest, lightest and most powerful electric race car ever produced. It is 60 kg lighter than its predecessor and with 100 kW more power. The single-seater electric race car can hit a top speed of 322 kmph but is quite efficient, capable of generating 40 per cent power through regenerative braking. Gen3 cars have both front and rear powertrains, a first for any formula car, while also being the first formula car not to feature rear hydraulic brakes.
