Mahindra showcased several 3-wheelers and a quadricycle at the Alternate Fuel Conclave in Pune.

Joining several other EV manufacturers, Mahindra showcased its range of electric vehicles at the Alternate Fuel Conclave to be held in Pune, Maharashtra. Mahindra, which has the largest market share of 73.4 per cent in the electric 3-wheeler space, showcased a variety of 3-wheelers, including Treo Auto, Treo Zor Delivery Van, Treo Tipper Edition and E Alpha Mini Tipper Edition.

Another EV showcased by Mahindra was the Atom quadricycle. Earlier seen at the Auto Expo 2020, the Atom is the only electric quadricycle in India to be launched for this financial year. The quadricycle brings a whole new mode of transportation, as the small 4-wheeler needs to be able to easily make its way through city traffic and narrow streets. The EV also features telematics connectivity to aid fleet management, and is supported by a monocoque body.

Speaking about the event, Maharashtra State Environment and Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray said that Pune is an auto hub and hence, an ideal location for a conclave.

Mahindra also showcased its e Alpha Mini Tipper to the public for the first time. The version aimed at garbage disposal duties has separate compartments for wet and dry waste, with a tipping angle of 40 degrees. The EV is equipped with a sufficient battery for a range of 80 km and is powered by a 1.5kW peak power motor. The EV also offers a load carrying capacity of 310 kg.

On display was another 3-wheeler from Mahindra, the Treo Tipper. The EV made its public debut at the Conclave, and is based on the Mahindra Treo platform. The vehicle has a payload capacity of 578 kg without dustbin, and has an electric motor that delivers 8kW of power.
