The Election Commission on Tuesday issued an advisory to political parties and their star campaigners asking them to exercise caution and restraint while campaigning in Karnataka and not to vitiate the election atmosphere.

Taking serious note of the “falling level of campaign discourse” during the election campaign, the poll panel noted instances of “inappropriate vocabulary and language” during the ongoing campaign by individuals, “in particular, with the legal status of the star”. “Promoters” by investors.
