Malayalam superstar Mammootty’s mother passes away at 93

Mammootty’s mother passed away at the age of 93.

Celebrities expressed their condolences to Mammootty and his family on social media.

South star Mammootty’s mother Fatima Ismail passed away on Friday. She was 93 years old. He was admitted to a private hospital due to age-related ailments. Fatima Ismail is survived by Mammootty and her five siblings. Fathima Ismail was well-liked in her locality of Chempu near Kochi (Kerala). The last rites will be held in the evening at Juma Masjid in Chembu, Vaikom. The funeral took place at 3 pm. Following the death, fans and celebrities from the Malayalam film industry expressed their condolences and support for Mammootty and his family on social media.

Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “Spoke to Mammootty this morning and expressed my deepest condolences on the passing of his mother. As I grew older, I grew closer to my mother, and I became aware of the preciousness of this irreplaceable bond. May he have the peace of mind to deal with his loss.”

Actor-dancer Vineeth Radhakrishnan also expressed his condolences. He penned an emotional note on Instagram which read, “Heartfelt condolences to Mammuka and the family and prayers for the departed soul of Mammuka’s mother.”

Producer Anto Joseph also expressed grief over the demise of Mammootty’s mother. He wrote, “Farewell to the mother whom this world loved so much.”

The last few films of Mammootty that released last year, including CBI 5, Bheeshma Parvat, Rorschach and Nanpakal Neerathu Mayakkam, were widely appreciated by the audience. The 71-year-old is now gearing up to keep us on the edge of our seats with his upcoming film. Mammootty has teamed up with renowned director Dino Dennis for his upcoming film Bazooka. Mammootty recently shared the mysterious title and first-look poster of Bazooka on Twitter. It didn’t take long for the unique poster to grab the attention of netizens.
