Man arrested after egg thrown at King Charles for second time in a month

An egg is believed to have been thrown in the direction of King Charles.

By India Today Web Desk: A man has been arrested after allegedly throwing an egg at King Charles III in Luton, United Kingdom.

The Guardian credited Bedfordshire Police with saying the incident happened on Tuesday while King Charles was taking a walk in Luton.

Bedfordshire Police further said that the suspect is being held in custody for questioning after being arrested in St George’s Square.

King Charles’ security team instructed the man to be temporarily removed from the crowd outside Luton Town Hall. He was then taken to another area and Raja again began shaking hands with the crowd.

He was in Luton to ride the new cable-powered DART mass passenger transit system. During his visit to the Bedfordshire town, the monarch also visited the Guru Nanak Gurudwara and the Town Hall.

A few weeks ago, eggs were thrown at King Charles and Camilla, his wife and the Queen consort while they attended an engagement in northern England and a 23-year-old man was caught by police following the incident. Footage on social media showed four eggs flying past the British monarch and his wife and falling to the ground as they arrived for a traditional ceremony in York.
