Man bites off policeman’s ear while taking him to police station in Kerala

The accused, Steny Rodriguez, was involved in a bike accident.

Kasaragod, Kerala:

A man chopped off the right ear of a sub-inspector while being taken to a police vehicle after being caught in a road rage incident in Kerala’s Kasaragod. The police gave this information on Saturday.

SI Vishnu Prasad of Town Police Station in Kasaragod sustained injuries in the unexpected attack on Thursday night and sought immediate medical attention.

The accused Steny Rodrigues was involved in a bike accident and was taken into custody from the spot by patrolling police personnel. The SI was sitting on the front seat of the vehicle when he was being taken to the police station.

In a fit of rage, Rodriguez, who was sitting just behind the front seat, suddenly bit Mr. Prasad’s right ear and injured him.

After being taken to a nearby hospital, the SI was later shifted to a private hospital. Police said that the arrest of the accused has been registered.
