Man shares inspiring video of his 83-year-old grandmother winning gold in carrom tournament

The video was shared by the grandson of the elderly woman

Most people believe that things have a set lifespan, adding up to a timeline. However, it is also rightly said that irrespective of your age it is never too late to learn and do the things that you really want to do. Several viral videos of elderly people doing extraordinary things only prove that age is just a number. Giving an example of the same, an 83-year-old woman from Pune has set the internet ablaze after her grandson posted a tweet about his achievements in the game of Carrom.

The woman’s grandson, Akshay Marathe, shared a video on Twitter in which she is seen hitting a shot perfectly while playing against a woman much younger to her in a tournament. He also proudly shared that he won a gold medal in the doubles category and a bronze medal in the singles category at the All-Magarpatta City Carrom Tournament in Pune.

“Inspired by my 83-year-old Aaji who won gold in doubles and bronze in singles at the All-Magarpatta City Carrom Tournament in Pune,” he tweeted.

In another tweet, Mr Marathe shared two pictures of himself and his friends playing a board game with ‘Aaji’ and took some credit for his victory. “We can take some credit for practicing with him though @abhijeet_dipke & me being paired with @PulkitS Aaji ruins it,” he wrote.

The tweet inspired people and many poured in congratulatory messages for the elderly woman in the form of love and heart emojis. A user wrote, “Love to Aaji, she is an inspiration.” A third said, “Very nice and inspiring, big congrats.”
