Ponniyin Selvan 2 HD version leaked online on 7 torrent sites.
Lyca Productions, in an official statement on 27 April, urged the audience to watch the film in theaters and show their support against piracy.
The historical epic drama Ponniyin Selvan 2 released across the cinema halls on Friday, 28 April. It has received positive reviews from both the audience and critics. But right after the big release, the film got leaked on torrent within few hours. As per the reports, Ponniyin Selvan 2 has been leaked in HD format on many sites and users can download it from around 7 illegal websites.
The Mani Ratnam magnum opus is now available in HD print on Filmyzilla, 123movies, Filmywap, Onlinemoviewatches, 123movierulz, Telegram, Tamilrockers and more. The film is available for download on some portals in 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p, 240p and HD.
Lyca Productions, in an official statement on 27 April, urged the audience to watch the film in theaters and show their support against piracy. The makers also shared a link asking fans to make an official complaint on plagiarism of the film’s content.
By the way, this is not the first time that a film has been leaked online. Other films including Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Shehzada, Pathan, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantummania, Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, and Selfie also fell into the web of piracy.
Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film has a star cast including Chiyaan Vikram. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sobhita Dhulipala, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi and others in pivotal roles.
On its opening day, the film opened to a great opening and collected around Rs 38 crore across all languages. According to Sacnilk, Ponniyin Selvan 2 has collected Rs 25 crore on Day 1 alone in Tamil Nadu. The collection is comparatively low in the home state as compared to PS1 which collected Rs 40 crore on its opening day.
The two-part film is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan. Mani Ratnam wanted to make a film on this popular book for years and finally got the chance to release it last year.
