Manish Sisodia’s nameplate removed from the bungalow; BJP targeted Kejriwal

Delhi’s politics has been on the boil ever since Manish Sisodia, former deputy CM of the capital, resigned from his post after being jailed in a case related to liquor policy. Sisodia’s resignation has been accepted by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal. From that day onwards, Sisodia was stripped of all the privileges of a cabinet minister of Delhi, including an attempt to take away the bungalow on Mathura Road.

The Kejriwal-led AAP government has allotted Sisodia’s bungalow to Atishi Marlena. Atishi is the new education minister of Delhi, a portfolio Sisodia held before her resignation.

Sisodia’s family, who are currently living in the bungalow, need to vacate the property by March 21, as per the Delhi government’s order.

Due to these reports in the media, the question of friendship between Kejriwal and Sisodia has taken a bitter turn. The two had always supported each other since the formation of AAP in 2012. Sisodia remained the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi since 2015 and under him the condition of Delhi government schools has improved significantly, claimed several reports.

However, the recent allegations against Sisodia and his subsequent resignation have made things more difficult for AAP as well as Kejriwal.

When AAP With leaders still defending Sisodia and targeting the BJP for targeting the leader without any concrete evidence, Kejriwal’s decision to vacate the bungalow has raised many questions.

The BJP questioned the haste in getting Sisodia’s bungalow vacated.

BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga wrote on Twitter, ‘Manish Sisodia’s nameplate has been removed from Sisodia’s bungalow.

@ArvindKejriwal order. Kejriwal has also ordered to vacate the bungalow in 15 days.

Taking a dig at Kejriwal, senior BJP leader Amit Malviya wrote, “Kejriwal had promised to take care Manish Sisodia and his family. But he was dropped almost immediately, while Satyendar Jain was retained as a minister for 9 months while he was in jail. Now Sisodia has been asked to vacate the bungalow so that it can be allotted to Atishi.

Delhi BJP media cell chief Harish Khurana said, “Why is Kejriwal in such a hurry to get rid of Sisodia? What happened to his promise to take care of Sisodia’s family after his arrest?”

AAP replied that it was “nothing but compliance with the law”. You have bungalows from Satyendra Jain to Saurabh Bhardwaj. Jain is another leader whose name has cropped up in the Delhi Excise case.

Sisodia was living in the AB-17 bungalow on Mathura Road, which was earlier owned by former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. The bungalow was allotted to Sisodia in 2015 when AAP came to power in Delhi.

Jain 2 was staying at Raj Niwas WayCivil Lines Bungalow.

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-cancelled Delhi Excise Policy for 2021-22. He is in judicial custody till March 20.
