Many Twitter users have been logged out of desktop accounts globally

New Delhi: Twitter users on desktop were logged out of their accounts globally in the early hours of Tuesday after a bug was reportedly experienced in the micro-blogging platform.

Several users took to Twitter (via mobile) to complain that they were randomly logged out of their desktop accounts.

The Downdetector website also showed a sharp increase in user complaints about the website.

Some Twitter users claimed that they were repeatedly logged out.

Twitter had yet to acknowledge the issue.

On Monday, owners of legacy blue ticks on Twitter were in for a surprise when a minor edit to their bio resulted in them getting their blue badge back, albeit temporarily.

A bug in Twitter resulted in legacy Blue Check holders briefly getting their Blue Badge back after updating their bio. However, after refreshing the page, the blue tick disappeared.

Last month, the platform faced a similar issue with its desktop version.

“We know some of you may be having issues replying to Tweets on the web. Things are working normally now. Sorry for the trouble!” The company tweeted.
