Maruti discontinues single airbag variants of Alto and S-Presso – Times of India

Maruti Suzuki India The single airbag variant of the has been discontinued alto and the S-Presso. The Alto STD, STD(O) and LXI variants have been discontinued while S-PRESSO Loses STD and LXI variants.
These Alto and S-Presso variants were available with co-passenger airbags as optional at an additional amount of Rs 7,000. Right now, the Alto LXi(O) variant costs Rs 4.08 lakh, VXi variant costs Rs 4.28 lakh, VXi+ variant costs Rs 4.41 lakh, LXi (CNG) variant costs Rs 4.89 lakh and LXi (O) variant is available at Rs. The CNG variant costs Rs 5.02 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
are talking about Maruti S-Presso, its STD(O) variant is available for Rs 3.98 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.63 lakh for the VXi(O) CNG trim. Both prices are ex-showroom.
In terms of technical specifications, Maruti Alto It is powered by a 0.8-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 47 hp of power and 69 Nm of torque. The Alto CNG variant makes 40 hp power and 60 Nm torque. Mechanically, the Maruti S-Presso uses a 1.0-litre K10 petrol engine that churns out 67hp power and 90Nm torque and is mated to a manual and AMT unit. The CNG variant of the S-Presso generates 58 hp power and 78 Nm torque.
Alto and S-Presso to get new powertrain
As per the speculations, the new Alto is likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre K10C petrol engine that produces 66 hp and 89 Nm. Talking about the Maruti S-Presso, it will get a 1.2-litre dual-jet K12C petrol motor with passive start-stop technology. Both the models are expected to debut in 2022 and be launched in 2023.
