The five-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny is expected to be unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo, but there is no official confirmation yet. When launched, Maruti Suzuki Jimny will compete with Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
Jimny Five-Door: Design
As seen in the images, the vehicle will retain most of the styling elements from the three-door variant. The five-door version gets a five-twin-spoke alloy wheel design, a larger bumper with honeycomb mesh pattern, fog lamps at both ends and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
Jimny Five-Door: Interior & Features
Talking about the interiors, the cabin layout of the SUV is expected to remain the same but the Jimny may get a bigger touchscreen system with connected car tech. The feature list will include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, steering mounted controls and many more.
Jimny Five-Door: Engine and Transmission
Mechanically, the Maruti Jimny is expected to retain the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, NA petrol engine that also powers the newly launched Grand Vitara and Brezza. This engine generates 100 bhp power and 130 Nm torque.
Globally, the Jimny is offered with a 4X4 system that also comes with a low-range transfer case. In India, we can expect the same 4×4 system to be offered with the 5-door version.
Jimny Five-Door: Launch, Price and Rivals
As mentioned earlier, we expect the 5-door Jimny to make its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo and launch sometime in April 2023.
We expect Maruti to price the five-door Jimny starting at Rs.8 lakh and when launched, the Jimny will rival the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha.
