News about Maruti Suzuki’s new manufacturing facility also made headlines last year, when there was word that it would be the company’s third in the state. Haryana And possibly the biggest. maruti suzuki has now confirmed that the process of allotment of land for the facility has been completed today.
The new manufacturing unit will be built on an 800-acre site at IMT Kharkhoda in Sonepat in association with Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited). While Maruti has not said anything in this regard, the third facility in Sonipat is expected to be the largest based on the area on which it is being built.

The first plant with a manufacturing capacity of 2,50,000 vehicles per year is expected to be commissioned within the year 2025, subject to administrative approval. The first phase will see an investment of over Rs 11,000 crore. The company also says that the site will have room for capacity expansion to include more manufacturing plants in the future.
Presently, Maruti Suzuki has two manufacturing facilities in Haryana which include Gurugram And Manesarias well as a manufacturing complex in Gujarat which is wholly owned by its parent company suzuki corporation,
The Gurugram facility has three manufacturing plants that produce the Alto 800, WagonR, Ertiga, XL6, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, Ignis and Eeco. The facility also began assembling the Jimny in January 2021 but only for export markets. The Manesar unit, inaugurated in February 2007, produces Alto, Swift, Ciaz, Baleno and Celerio.
The company announced a 5.65 per cent decline in overall sales in April to 1,50,661 units from 1,59,691 units in the same month a year ago. Domestic sales stood at 1,32,248 units, down 7.16 per cent from 1,42,454 in April 2021, the company statement said.
