Meanwhile, after complaints of disconnection of drinking water supply to residents kukrahalliChamaraja MLA L Nagendra visited the area on Friday along with MCC officials.
He directed the municipal authorities to supply drinking water to the residents immediately. Since residents had not paid the water cess including fine and interest amount after draining the water, as well as to prevent the authorities from installing water meters for the past several years, the MCC had cut off the water supply to the area.
On receiving complaints from the public, the MLA visited the area and appealed to the residents to pay the water cess and asked the authorities to allow the installation of water meters. He said that as per the law, it is mandatory for all residents to pay tax for drawing water from the water supply lines of MCC.
“As all are equal under the law, residents must allow the civic authorities to perform their duty. Residents can pay their dues later,” he said.
