Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma often receives some strange emails, and he shared one of them on Twitter last night. The email, from a man soliciting funding for his start-up idea, is a study in how not to write a pitch deck. It begins with the man explaining that he studied more in the last eight months – everything from Socrates to Newton to Swami Vivekananda – than he did in 18 years of school. He then talks about his two rules in life, his assurance that he can build a trillion-dollar business and the importance of money—his goal of making the world’s number one toy company—before he gets to the point of the email.
“Sir mein paisa toh bahut work hu trillion dollar business – Textile, Telecom, Real estate, Beer alcohol like thousands of steel etc. (Sir I can make a lot of money, I can set up a trillion dollar business in textile, telecom, real estate etc.),” the man wrote in his email.Today’s time is important after air, water, friends, family, so is money. (In this day and age, money is the most important after air, water, friends and family),” he continued.
He then wrote a letter to Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma explaining the reason: “My goal is to be the No. 1 toy company in the world (Next Level).”
“My aim is to build the world’s number one toy company (Next Level),” he told Mr. Sharma.
To that end, the man revealed, he sought funding from five venture capitals by calling, messaging and emailing them, but none agreed to fund his idea.
The money seeker further states that if he had a trillion dollars and someone asked him for 0.01 percent, he would have easily given it. In his trademark gambling style, he then begins to talk about the problem with the Indian economy: “No one has money in India, whoever has it (Leader people)“- which roughly translates to “No one has any money in India. And those who have it (politicians) don’t want to be separated from it.”
Sharing the email on Twitter, Mr Sharma asked his followers if they would part with 0.01 percent of a trillion dollars if they had the money. He used the hashtag #mails_I_get . also added

Mr. Sharma then took out another gem from his inbox. In another email, a Hyderabad man elaborates on his dream of building a “progress report” app for small business owners, similar to the report cards handed out to school children.
“Sir, we will have 100 million paying users,” he explains, how that will lead to $24 billion in revenue each year, without offering any figures, numbers or history to back his projection.
And … we’ll have a profit of $2.25 billion.

The email amused many on the microblogging platform, garnering hundreds of ‘likes’, comments and retweets.
