Bhubaneswar: Health and Family Welfare Department have asked everyone medical institute On high alert including private sector to recruit and treat all dengue patients on the basis of priority.
The department has issued this alert after a sudden surge cases of dengue In Khurda district with capital Bhubaneswar. More than 2,400 cases of dengue have been reported from the city since January.
Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Special Secretary, Health Department, in a letter to Collector of Khurda District and Chief District Medical and Public Health Officer, Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, all private health institutions in Khurda district to take necessary proactive steps to combat the spread of dengue. letter has been written for Khurda District.
Mohanty said in the letter, “There should be a ‘zero death’ strategy due to dengue, Intensive Information Education Communication (IEC) activities including mainstream electronic media can also be undertaken to create awareness among the general public to prevent dengue.” ”
A public health official said dengue cases should have come down after Durga Puja, but 10 to 15 dengue cases are being reported daily. “After the low pressure rains, dengue cases have been reported from the city.
