Meeting soon to find a solution to the floods in Ambattur Estate

According to Rural Industries Minister TM Anbarasan, the state government has planned to organize a meeting of officials of all concerned departments to solve the problem of flooding of Ambattur Industrial Estate.

Pointing out that out of the total 1,800 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ambattur Estate functioning under the control of Small Industries Development Corporation, more than 300 industrial units have been affected, the Minister said that this was due to the following reasons. Obstruction in the alignment of drainage canal from Ambattur tank to Korattur tank.

During the inspection of the area, it was found that cracks have also appeared in the canal. After taking up the matter with Chief Minister MK Stalin, a permanent solution will be worked out regardless of the amount of rain. With normalcy returning, enterprises had resumed operations, the minister said.

Giving details of the minister’s inspection, an official release said that Ambattur MLA, Joseph Samuel, MSME secretary Arun Roy and CIDCO managing director R Gajalakshmi participated in the inspection.
