Pulwama Attack When J&K Was Under Central Rule, His Elected Satya Pal Malik Was Running State From Raj Bhavan, Says Omar Abdullah

Parties in Jammu and Kashmir including National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have reacted sharply to the speech made by him. Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a rally in North Kashmir’s Baramulla,

Taking objection to Mr Shah’s remark where he referred to “Abdullah and Sons and Mufti and Co”, former Chief Minister and NC Vice President Omar Abdullah said, “Amit Shah Yes Says ‘Gupkar Model Gave Us Pulwama Attack’ Just To Remind Everyone That Pulwama Attack Happened When J&K Was Under Center [BJP] He is running the state from Raj Bhavan with his chosen one Satya Pal Malik.

“And if the ‘Gupkar model gave guns and stones to the youth of Kashmir’ then why on earth is the PM” [Prime Minister] And other senior leaders invited these ‘Gupkar leaders’ for meetings in Delhi?” he added.

In his speech, Mr Shah accused the NC and the PDP of pushing the youth in Kashmir towards stones and guns.

Senior NC leader Ratan Lal Gupta was the patron of NC Farooq Abdullah who started the struggle for Scheduled Tribe status for the Pahari community in 1983.

He said, “NC was expecting an employment package from the Home Minister for the youth of J&K as the unemployment rate has reached an all-time high and reached 32.75%, which is the highest in the country right now. “

He opposed Mr Shah’s claims on medical colleges saying that five medical colleges were sanctioned under the NC regime headed by Mr Omar Abdullah after taking up the matter with the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. “What HM said is factually incorrect,” he said.

Former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti also reacted to Mr Shah’s jibe at Mufti.

“Dedicating his speech to answer my questions, HM forgets that Mufti Sahab was the Chief Minister for just 3.5 years and his work for the welfare of J&K does not require recognition from him. Even after ruling J&K directly since 2018, the BJP has nothing but its broken record of dynasticism,” Ms Mufti said.
