Mehrauli murder | Delhi Police gets permission from court to conduct polygraph test of Aftab Poonawalla

On November 22, a court had allowed the Delhi Police to conduct a polygraph test. Aftab Amin Poonawalla who allegedly Killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walker and dismembered her bodyPolice sources gave this information on Tuesday.

The Delhi Police had filed an application in the court on 21 November.

“Yes. We have got permission from the Delhi court to conduct a polygraph test on Poonawalla.” PTI,

Polygraph test is a non-invasive technique in which no drugs are used. The subject is attached to a machine and is asked questions about a matter or event related to it. When the subject answers the questions the variation in the graph is mapped to draw conclusions.

According to the American Psychological Association (APA), polygraph tests measure a person’s “heart rate/blood pressure, respiration, and skin conductance”. The purpose of a trial is usually to prove whether or not a person has committed a crime.

Police has got four more days custody

Meanwhile, a Delhi court on November 22 remanded Aftab Amin Poonawalla to Delhi Police’s custody for four more days. His five-day police custody ended today.

“Police asked for his detail [Poonawala’s’] The police custody remand is still continuing since the interrogation. Based on our application, we have obtained police custody of the accused for four more days, which will help in gathering more evidence, said a Delhi Police official.
