Globally, the EQB is available in three variants, 250, 300 and 350. While the entry-spec EQB 250 has a FWD single-motor set-up, the 300 and 350 come with dual motors with AWD 4MATIC and there are more likely variants to come here. A special feature of the B platform is that it offers a 7-seat layout, something that the competition does not offer.
In terms of power and range, both the EQB 300 and 350 share the same 66.5 kWh battery pack but differ in terms of performance. While the EQB 300 can generate 228 hp, the EQB 350 is more powerful at 292 hp. However, both the variants have the same claimed range of 400 km when fully charged. Considering that the EQB is expected to be launched around Rs 80 lakh mark, the range is not very impressive in terms of luxury EV standards.
at that price point, Mercedes-Benz EQB It will also be priced significantly higher than its nearest rival, the XC40 Recharge (ex-showroom Rs. 55.9 lakh), which offers bigger performance and similar range figures. It remains to be seen whether the extra row of seats in the EQB will be enough to convince luxury EV buyers to look their way.
