Mercedes-Benz shows off crazy off-roading EV concept

Mercedes-Benz combines luxury with off-roading panache in a futuristic concept powered by an electric powertrain.

As a part of Daimler’s Project Maybach, Mercedes-Benz has showcased a luxurious off-roading vehicle for which the German brand worked with the late Virgil Abloh, the legendary fashion designer. Abloh, who was Louis Vuitton’s artistic director, died last weekend. Daimler’s design chief Gordon Wagner collaborated with Abloh to unveil the vehicle at the Rubel Museum.

“On 1 December 2021, in lieu of an intimate press event, Mercedes-Benz paid tribute to Virgil Abloh by opening the doors of the Rubel Museum for Project Maybach to be exhibited to the public between 1 and 2 December, including notably Access was offered to students from local design schools from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on December 1.
